The New Year, New Language Summit is a free online summit organised by Actual Fluency, bringing together language learning educators, app founders, polyglots, coaches, and everyday learners each January.
The goal has always been the same: share the knowledge, tools, and mindset shifts that help people stick with their language learning beyond the New Year rush. Sessions cover everything from beginner strategy to advanced fluency techniques, language exchange, AI tools, community, and motivation.
A free ticket gives you access to watch each session within 24 hours of its release. Premium access includes lifetime replays, downloadable materials, and bonus content.

Back to Our Roots: Language Learning, Broadly
Returning in January 2027, the sixth edition takes NYNL back to its roots: a summit about language learning in general, rather than one angle on it. More than 35 speakers are lined up, mixing past favourites the audience asked to see again with a large group appearing at NYNL for the first time.

The 2026 summit ran January 14 to 17 with a dedicated focus on artificial intelligence. Speakers included app founders, educational technologists, and experienced polyglots exploring practical ways AI is changing how we learn, practise, and personalise our language study.

The 2025 summit stepped back from skill level and focused on the underlying engine of all language learning: staying consistent over the long haul. Sessions explored habit design, accountability, sustainable study routines, and how to keep going when life gets in the way.

NYNL 2024 was aimed at learners chasing genuine fluency. Sessions covered advanced vocabulary acquisition, maintaining multiple languages, thinking in a foreign language, and what separates good learners from great ones. Luca Lampariello and Richard Benton were among the speakers.
