Martha Summerlin

Martha Summerlin is a self-proclaimed language nerd, proud introvert and cat fan. When she isn’t buried in books, nerding out on autism or thinking about how language works, you can find her exploring one of North Carolina’s beautiful parks, trying out a new coffee shop or watching sports.

Having studied sociolinguistics (the study of people’s attitudes towards dialects and accents) she’s passionate about sharing the value of each dialect and language and what they have to teach us about each other. She's also the creator and host of Shhh, I'm Learning!, a podcast about introverted and neurodivergent language learning that seeks to add nuance to the conversation and provide space for different ways of doing and being in language.
