Leo Todaro
Italian with Leo
Born and raised in Sicily, Leo is a language educator, content creator, and lifelong language learner based in Copenhagen. With a strong interest in technology, Leo regularly designs AI-supported learning materials and has led teacher workshops in Copenhagen on using AI in a thoughtful, pedagogically grounded way.
He has worked with languages all his life, from early exposure to English and Sicilian dialects to Latin, Ancient Greek, and later Danish, which he learned as an adult to near-native level after moving to Denmark at 28. For over 25 years, Leo has taught Italian (and Danish) to adult learners, both in the classroom and online.
This experience has given him a clear, practical understanding of where learners struggle and what truly supports progress. Alongside his teaching, he has studied second language acquisition and completed formal teacher education in Denmark.
He is the founder of Italian with Leo, a long-running online school, and the publisher of self-study materials, including Italia Nostra, a magazine for intermediate and advanced learners.
