AFP S2E04 – Claudio Santori: Startups and viral learning

On the fourth episode of the second season of the podcast I'm joined by Claudio Santori. Claudio is the founder of BliuBliu, a website that finds native content you can enjoy at your current level in the target language. He comes on to talk about what it takes to start and run a language startup, as well as ideas on apps and other software for language learning. We also touch on his recent viral fame in Lithuania where him and a friend recorded videos in Lithuanian and ended up being invited on Radio, TV and even TEDx.

Claudio Santori

I'm very excited to welcome my good friend, Claudio Santori to the podcast. I briefly interview him in Berlin last year, the results of which you can see here on the AF youtube channel. In that interview we discussed Bliu Bliu and his story in more detail, so if you'd like a nice back story for this interview you can go check out that interview first.

He also did a talk on how to focus, is very passionate about personal development and entrepreneurship – so he's right up my alley!

  • Hi Claudio & Chris!

    A very entertaining interview.

I really agree with the idea that, when looking for real language sources, we should choose activities we already enjoy in our native language. In my own experience, that makes it easier to build a new learning habit.

Also, using cognates to work on pronunciation at first sounds like a great strategy.

And I also enjoyed the insights on how to start a language startup.
I’m going to check up Bliu-bliu!

    Thank you!

      hey Jorge
      thanks for the comment

On Bliu Bliu we are all about this, we take content you consume in your native and we provide you that in the target language, at your level. Or at least this is the vision 🙂

      • I’ve been playing with the German materials. It’s fun! The books and the “Listen to this paragraph” feature are great.
